Planting Trees to Support Salmon
We were super stoked to team up with Sound Salmon Solutions and help create a greener future! Together, we planted more than 200 trees near Arlington, WA to contribute towards preserving the local wildlife's natural habitat.
After a long, snowy journey across Washington state we arrived in Arlington ready to roll up our sleeves and plant some trees!
Let's get digging - it's time for us to bring fresh greenery into this beautiful area.
Here's why we did it
Trees are true superheroes of the natural world! They provide a cooling canopy for creeks and streams, protecting vulnerable salmon from sweltering summer temperatures. Plus, their formidable roots help to protect riverbanks from erosion – stopping precious spawning habitats from being washed away in an instant.
Trees are more than just providers of shade and oxygen, they're also a huge help to the salmon population! When leaves and needles fall into rivers, it helps create an environment full of nutrient-rich food sources like insects that provide nourishment for these finned friends. Plus, trees offer shelter from predators and other aquatic creatures - including crayfish – which can serve as tasty snacks too!
